French Toast and Streaky Bacon
- 8 eggs
- 50 ml milk
- 4 slices of white bread
- Streaky Bacon
- Beat the eggs and milk together with a pinch of salt and pour into a shallow dish large enough to take two slices of the bread snugly. Soak the bread two slices at a time in the mixture for at least 10 minutes, turning, so that it soaks up all the egg.
- In a large saucepan, melt a generous knob of butter over a medium-high heat. When it is beginning to sizzle, add as many slices of the soaked bread to the pan as you can fit in one layer.
- Fry on each side for two to three minutes, until golden, then transfer to a plate and eat immediately, sprinkled with cinnamon sugar or drizzled with runny honey or maple syrup.
- Streaky bacon cooked until crispy.
